Trey Mountain is a must if you have never been.  A great day trip from Atlanta as well as beautiful mountain rivers to camp on for the weekend.  Plenty of waterfalls to find and miles of trails to cover.  Head to Helen to check out Georgia's one of a kind mountain town.

A few small sections will test your vehicles articulation, but it is possible to explore without engaging 4 wheel drive as well.
